CHS Graduation Requirements
| TWENTY-FOUR units of credit are required to successfully complete high school and earn a Clovis High School diploma. Credit is awarded on the basis of ONE CREDIT PER CLASS PERIOD FOR THE ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR. For a one semester course, .5 credit will be issued. A student must have earned at least 15 credits and have successfully completed two years of English to be classified as a senior. Only students fulfilling ALL requirements have the option to march in the commencement ceremony. |

Subject-Specific Credit Requirements
Class of 2010/2011/2012
- English – 4 credits
- Math – 3 credits
- Science – 3 credits (two of which shall have a laboratory component)
- Social Science – 3.5 credits
- U.S. History (1 credit)
- World History (1 credit)
- Government (.5 credit)
- Economics (.5 credit)
- NM History (.5 credit)
- Communication Skills* – 1 credit
- Physical Education – 1 credit
- Electives – 8.5 credits
The remaining
credits may be made up of elective courses in fine arts (i.e. music, band, chorus, and art); practical arts; modern languages; theater; vocational education; mathematics; science; English; aerospace science; social science; computer science; and other electives approved by the NM Department of Education. Electives will be offered only if sufficient enrollment and adequate resources are available.
A maximum of two approved correspondence credits may be accepted toward a diploma. Record of completion of correspondence course(s) must be on file in the guidance office ONE MONTH prior to graduation.
Junior and senior students wishing to enroll in concurrent enrollment classes at CCC must have prior approval from guidance. A 2.5 cumulative GPA is mandatory to enroll at CCC.

Early Graduation Requirements
Students planning early graduation MUST CONTACT THEIR COUNSELOR FOR APPROVAL of their plan and make necessary arrangements prior to the first day of school of the academic year of graduation.
A committee will review the application and determine the outcome.
