Grade Point Average and Rank in Class |
Clovis Schools calculate grade average and rank-in-class for all students at each grade level, grades 9-12. In the ninth grade, all students are combined as one class for the first time. A grade point average and rank is generated for each student at the end of the first semester. Each semester grade point averages and ranks are recalculated. Grade point average and rank-in-class are part of each student's permanent record and are included on all transcripts. Grades from all courses that count toward graduation are averaged except those graded pass/fail or satisfactory/unsatisfactory.
Grade point averages are figured on a four-point scale with A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, and F=0. Advanced Placement (A.P.) and Honors classes will have the following grade weights: A=5, B=4, C's and D's will not be weighted.
